Hi everybody! If you are having any problems with the lessons, or just need some clarification, here is the place to ask. I'll try to respond as soon as I'm able.

I'm new to the forum and i'd like to know where is the best place to start with learning solo's or lead guitar. Which lesson is for me. I know some scales but not how to break them down or how to use them.

Hi and welcome to the site!

As far as the lessons are concerned, they cover guitar playing in a general way. I would suggest skimming over them from the beginning if you are new to guitar. You'll probably skip some things, but you may also pick up something you did not know.

The 'tips' section contains more specific lessons, focusing on different aspects of guitar and even the styles of particular guitarists. It's there that you'll find more information on soloing. And from there, you might like to check out my YouTube channel where I show lots of blues licks and classic solos from a player perspective.

I hope this helped!

PS My YouTube channel is http://au.youtube.com/user/nickeax and from there, I suggest checking out the playlists: http://au.youtube.com/profile_play_list?user=nickeax

I think that may be a sign that you aren't ready for that level yet. Start with the first lessons, and make sure you have them 'down'. Pacing yourself whilst learning from the Internet can be very difficult! You have access to all the information, all at once.

There is no hurry to learning. In fact, hurrying will slow you down.

Practice playing your Minor Pentatonic scales, up and down. Up and down. Play them cleanly and slowly, then increase the speed as you feel comfortable. Then, when you can find your way around the root 5 and root six scales easily, start to copy some of mine or others' licks.

These licks all come from the Minor Pentatonic scale. Select slow and easy licks first, and try to put them together in ways of your own. The faster licks will become clearer as your ability to audibly identify licks improves.

I also plan to focus on some of the quicker licks on their own, so this may be what you're after? Until then, I advise you to take it easy and get a good foundation to build the rest of your playing on.

I hope this was good advice!

I've been through the 5 lessons and i already knew all this. Now i'm going through the (tip section).
I'm going through the-(learning to play solos)
I already know my minor pentatonic and blues scale and with the examples you have done i'm trying to use them up and down and join them together.
I haven't tried with the backing track yet but i'm already starting to get quicker and be able to hear what i'm doing and know what i'm going to do next.
I'll keep practicing and then i'll try with the backing track.
Thanks Nickeax
